We know this may sound a little dramatic but we use all our different makeup sponges every single day to apply everything from our highlighter to our powder, even our eyeshadow – yes, this is actually a thing! It’s undoubtedly the most diverse tool in our makeup bag (whether you have a beautyblender or makeup sponge by any other brand) and always comes through to create a super airbrushed finish.
What was life like pre-beautyblender? It definitely wasn’t as flawless.
To create a full coverage finish with any foundation, apply your foundation with a dry blender using a stippling motion, the damper the blender is, the more foundation is lifted off your skin. By stippling (when you use a light tapping motion) to apply your foundation, pressing the product into your skin for maximum coverage. Whatever you do, avoid dragging your blender as this may lift the product off and won’t give that airbrushed finish you’re looking for.
If you have freckles on your nose and cheeks, bounce a clean part of your damp makeup sponge over the tops of your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose. This will pick up more product, lifting the foundation off your skin and allowing your freckles to peek through.
Wet.Squeeze.Bounce
If you’re like us, you probably use your Beautyblender every day and incorporate it into your full makeup routine. But there’s a lot more to the Beautyblender than meets the eye. There are helpful best practices to follow, along with tips and tricks you may never have thought of. Here’s everything you need to know about how to use a Beautyblender for all its worth. Many people are surprised to find that the Beautyblender is meant to be used when wet. Before each use, run it under your faucet until it’s fully soaked. Once your Beautyblender is fully saturated, it’s time to squeeze it out. The goal is to apply your makeup with a damp blender, so you’ll want to wring out all of the excess water. Now for the fun part: the bounce. Bounce powder or liquid foundation, bb cream, or concealer across your skin for a flawless finish.
Blend.Blend.Blend
We all love using our Beautyblenders for applying foundation and concealer–it helps product go on super smooth and silky. But your blender can be used for just about anything in your beauty routine, especially if you have each of our blender sizes.
