BLUSHER

Blush is the most effective product at changing your face quickly. As well as delivering a healthy flush in an instant, it adds subtle definition and gives your skin a youthful appearance with minimal effort.

When it comes to picking a blusher, you need to select the right type for your skin. Generally, cream and gel blushers work best for drier skin tones, as powders tend to settle into lines and cling to dry patches. Amanda says, “Texture is so important with blusher and creams/gels are the easiest to work with as they can be applied to the apples of the cheeks with a nylon brush and then blended in with clean fingertips for a soft effect.” If you go for powder, Amanda advises, “When blending powder blusher, sweep blusher onto the cheek. Then take a clean (smaller headed) blusher brush and blend out towards the hairline with small circular movements this will effectively polish the pigment into the skin.” Just don’t forget to tap your brush on to tissue or the back of your hand first to take off any excess product!

Don’t be afraid to add more blush

For many, finding the right place to begin your blusher can be tricky – but Amanda has one clever trick to helping you pinpoint the correct spot. She says, “To find out the perfect place to start your blusher trace from your iris to the end of your nose that spot is where you would start your blusher for the perfect placement .”

“Peach or soft rose blushers are great options for a softer effect. For a little more of a statement blush, try a sheer plum or soft coral blush.”

“When you choose a shade that compliments your skin, it will blend seamlessly. Whereas, a contrasting shade will pop and look stronger against the skin.”
